Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to work with some of the engineers who have created the best audio equipment still being used? I mean, I would love to build some Neumann microphones, or maybe a vintage 1176. Heck, I just want to look at the components and see if I could improve on it. The more you work on a thing the better you become, and the smarter you get.

#HowWasIt?
There were many of you who made AES NY 2019. How was your experience? Was it everything you hoped it would be? What about the Grammy Table? Who was on the panel and what were the topics? What were some of the other panels featured? I just wished that I could have been there this year? I’m already planning on next year. Will I see you there? Hope so.
#Let’sHearFromYou
#Train #Encourage #Motivate
Growing up in an era where the radio, instruments, and records played a majority of entertainment for me, my direction was practically laid out for who I was gonna be. For others , it may be sports, theater, or something else. But for me, it was always music. I remember listening to the radio and singing along with the songs played on the record player, yes I said record player. I was also motivated by our local church choir, in which I was told that I was too young to join at the time. I didn’t see it as a slight. I only said that I have a little time to get better, then I’m gonna blow them away! Everything was music for me, so I joined the band in school, took up the piano, and yes, sang in the choir. I didn’t receive any discouragement from my family or friends. My biggest problem was opportunity to get to the next level. Home studios were not yet possible, and I didn’t know anyone who could get me exposure. But that still didn’t discourage me. Why, because I knew who I was supposed to be. I studied and studied everything that was available to me, and watched many shows and others perform so that when the time came, I would be ready. Now, I’m well on my way. But, maybe others can use this story to motivate themselves to train and encourage others to keep working on their dreams. What’s your story? Reply in the comments below.
#Let’sGrowStrongerTogether!
Who says that keeping to yourself is the best way to make it? How many successful people do you know that made it by keeping to themselves? Don’t worry I’ll wait. Here’s the thing, we all need to communicate or work along with others. That’s what stimulates our desires and ambitions to be who we are. Regardless to how others want you to believe, you were created to work with others. That’s how we become stronger. Let’s grow stronger together.
#AndTheBestEngineerIs…….
I was always competitive growing up. I didn’t care what it was, I just had to be the best at it. It could have been checkers or marbles, I just had to be best. As I grew older, I took that competitive mentality with me. Singing, mixing, recording, whatever. I’m still working on being the best that I can be, but the competition is strong and I’m just coming out the blocks. But that’s not going to scare me into giving up. What it will do is make me even better, so when the time is right, I’ll hear them say…… and the best engineer is…… Put your name here!
#WhatSoundsBetter?
What sounds better, cds or albums? The reason why I ask is because vinyl is coming back by popular demand. For those of you who have no idea what vinyl is, it was the most reliable source of recording available. Well, that and tape. They were good if handled well and appreciated. They lasted for about three or four decades, then tape took over, and finally cds. Now cds are supposedly indestructible, but like vinyl, if they’re not taken care of, they have to get tossed too. For those of you who’s had an opportunity to listen to both, which do you prefer? Let me know in the comments below and why.
