I was watching a morning television show with my wife this morning, and interesting enough they were talking about whether or not artists should release their music during this pandemic. From what I understand, it is not beneficial for the artists because sales would be at risk, due to the increased use of streaming platforms and the mixing of new material being played at the same time other material is being heard. What are your thoughts on this? Should we wait or should we proceed to release?

On your mark, Get set,….
In no way am I encouraging rebellion, because what is needed is unity, not division. Everyone is hurting for normalcy in the work community, and going Rambo because of past due bills is inexcusable. We live with some of the most brilliant artists in the world and they are backed by a host of professional representatives, both new and old, who are passionate about their business, and they are anxious to get you the best entertainment coming out of this pandemic. So while we were in hiatus, they were in the lab, and they can’t wait to get it to you. So as the saying goes,…. On your mark, Get set, Gooooo!!!!!
#Together
One songwriter has the ability to create a great inspirational song that will encourage a town. One engineer can turn that song into a masterpiece that inspires a nation. With the both of them working together, they can inspire the world.
#Caution!!!
I trust in God. For some, that may be a turn off, but it’s my belief. Everyone has a right to believe how they choose. I began my blog this way because our businesses are suffering because of COVID-19. First, the immediate shutdown of the country, which was a total disaster, and now, the rush to open it back up because of the lack of ability to sustain the country, financially. On a positive note: we are waking up to be more sanitary, which some of us have been complacent in doing. Because of my faith, I refuse to be a proponent of fear. 2 Timothy 2:7 reads, For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and love, and of a sound mind. This keeps me confident in these times of distress. We will overcome this, with the help of The Lord Jesus.

The (new) normal is nothing new. It was bound to happen. This just happened twenty years past the turn of the century. We have to pull up our grownup pants, and move even deeper into the twenty first century. Jetson’s here we come!

#BetterThanABandAid!
How many of you are feeling the financial pressure of being “closed because of not being considered essential?” Who determines what is or isn’t essential? I believe that if you depend on your studio to pay the bills, then you are essential. If you can’t operate to bring in revenue, then the creditors will place you in default, and ultimately collect your possessions for payment. I don’t know about you, but I invested too much money into my craft, to let somebody come and take it away from me. And let’s not talk about personal loans or consolidation loans. The smaller you are, the less likely it will be for you to obtain one. Now, how can you jumpstart the economy like that? They may as well tell you to find another trade to pursue. And at my age, that’s not feasible. I need to be given a chance to show you my business creativity on how to operate safely and effectively during these times. I shouldn’t have to throw my dreams away just because you don’t deem it necessary or essential. How is your job better than mine? How about you go back to school and start all over? Really?!!!! Let’s have some responses.
#CovidRegrouping!
Happy Monday!
I want to talk to y’all about regrouping when you’re able to get business back to normal. If you’re like me, being a small business, it might not be a great problem. I say this because I can minimize the traffic in and out of my studio, but not everyone is able to do it. You may have multiple staff and clients who are very demanding when it comes to studio time. Though it is good for your business, you still need to have a specific protocol to follow for your clients and staff, and yourself. Will you have everyone mask and gloved, or what about your equipment? Everything must be sanitized before, during, and after each use. And will you provide the materials for everyone, or just the equipment? I’m sure you’ll do what is best for the business, but it’s just something to look at. It is my hope and prayer that everything works out for all of you. Let me know what your ideas are concerning #regrouping in this COVID-19 situation?
